Swim/Watersports
Get wet. Swim in stinger-free calm waters along the main beach. There’s not much surf so bring a li-lo or boogie board to enjoy the lazy swell. The bay is usually calmer in the mornings for a paddle. Jet skiiers can get their thrill across the open bay or explore the rivers.
Theodolite Creek
A local favourite, the Creek has it all. Estuaries and ocean to explore and fish. Kayaking, paddle boarding and just puddling around. Put in the tinny or fish off the banks. BBQs and amenities for a day out and dog friendly on the sea-ward side. (Warning: Stone Fish do live in the creeks, so footwear is recommended.)
Walkers Point
Walker’s Point is a quiet hamlet just minutes from Woodgate. A fisherman’s paradise and a great place to start exploring the Burrum Coast National Park and Burrum River or, just relax riverside. Take Acacia Street, south and head along Timber Cutters Drive for a few minutes.

Take the boardwalk through wetlands on the Banksia Track into iconic wallum or, take a longer trek through forest and saltpans to the beach on the Melaleuca Circuit at Walkers Point. Stroll or ride along the paved pathway following the Esplanade.
